About Skypoint Recovery

Drug & Alcohol Treatment for All Virginians

We started Skypoint Recovery so that people across Virginia and the Mid-Atlantic could get the substance use treatment they need, including people covered by Virginia Medicaid. Our program is based in Richmond, and we welcome people from Central Virginia and beyond.

From your first conversation with our admissions team to your last session in our care, you never have to face recovery on your own. A real person answers your questions, helps you understand your options, and stays with you as your needs change.

Every treatment plan is built around you, not a template. We provide partial hospitalization, intensive outpatient, and outpatient care, dual diagnosis treatment, and recovery housing here in Richmond. When you need medical detox or inpatient care first, we arrange it through trusted partner facilities and welcome you back for the next stage of treatment.

Addiction and alcohol treatment

Our rehab programs

Explore the levels of care we offer in Richmond, from partial hospitalization to outpatient therapy and recovery housing.

Outpatient Program

Regular therapy and recovery support that fits around work, school, and family. Often the last step in a step-down plan, or a starting point for milder concerns.

Intensive Outpatient Program (IOP)

Several treatment sessions a week that balance group and individual therapy, built to fit around work and family. A common step down from PHP.

Drug Rehab

Treatment for opioid, stimulant, benzodiazepine, cannabis, and other drug use through PHP, IOP, and outpatient care, with MAT for opioid use disorder when appropriate.

Alcohol Rehab

Treatment for alcohol use disorder through PHP, IOP, and outpatient care, with medically supervised detox arranged first when withdrawal could be dangerous.

Dual Diagnosis Rehab

Integrated treatment for co-occurring substance use and mental health conditions such as depression, anxiety, PTSD, and bipolar disorder, in one coordinated plan.

Arranged with a partner facility

Inpatient Rehab

When you need round-the-clock care, we assess you, arrange admission to a partner inpatient or residential facility, coordinate detox if needed, and provide step-down care after.

Men’s Rehab

Gender-specific addiction treatment for men in Richmond: a judgment-free space to deal with the pressures and expectations that can fuel substance use.

Sober Living

A substance-free recovery residence in Richmond with peer accountability and clear house expectations, for people continuing treatment or moving into independent life.

Transitional Housing

Stable, supportive housing for people in PHP or IOP, or just finishing, with case management that works toward independent housing.

Why choose us

The Skypoint Recovery difference

Medication-Assisted Treatment

When it is clinically appropriate, FDA-approved medications can be part of your plan alongside counseling and therapy. Your care team talks through the options with you so you can decide together.

Personalized Care

Your plan starts with your history, your health, and your goals. It changes as you make progress, so the care you receive always fits where you are.

Expert Support

Licensed clinicians and recovery professionals work with you at every step, from your first assessment through aftercare planning.

Holistic Approach

Substance use affects your body, your mind, your relationships, and your daily life. Treatment addresses all of it, not just the substance.

Flexible Schedule

Outpatient levels of care let you keep up with work, school, and family while you get treatment. We set your schedule with you at assessment.

Ongoing Support

Recovery continues after a program ends. Step-down care, recovery housing, and an aftercare plan help you keep the progress you have made.

Why people choose Skypoint Recovery

Mental health and therapy

Comprehensive therapy services

Our therapy services treat substance use and mental health together, using approaches such as CBT, DBT, and family therapy.

Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT)

A structured, skills-based therapy that helps you understand your triggers, challenge the thoughts that lead to use, and practice new ways through cravings.

Group Therapy

Clinician-led groups where you learn recovery skills, practice honest connection, and find out you are not the only one going through this.

Individual Therapy

Private, one-on-one sessions with a therapist to work through the history, emotions, and goals behind your recovery at your own pace.

Mental Health Treatment

Treatment for anxiety, depression, trauma, and other mental health conditions, integrated with your substance use care instead of handled separately.

Case Management

Practical help with the logistics of recovery: coordinating care, Medicaid, housing, legal paperwork, and job readiness, so treatment can stick.

Peer Recovery Support

Support from people with lived experience of recovery who can guide, encourage, and connect you to a recovery community that lasts beyond treatment.

How admissions works

FAQs

Frequently asked questions

What types of addiction treatment programs do you offer?

In Richmond, we provide a Partial Hospitalization Program (PHP), an Intensive Outpatient Program (IOP), an Outpatient Program, and recovery housing, including sober living and transitional housing. We also treat co-occurring mental health conditions. If you need medical detox or inpatient treatment, we arrange it through partner facilities and provide your step-down care afterward.

How long does treatment take?

It depends on your needs, your progress, and your goals. Many people move through more than one level of care, such as PHP, then IOP, then outpatient therapy. Your care team sets your schedule at assessment and reviews it with you as you go.

What types of therapy do you offer?

Our programs include individual, group, and family therapy, cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), dialectical behavior therapy (DBT), motivational interviewing, and EMDR. Case management, peer support, relapse prevention, and life skills work are also part of care. Your plan uses the approaches that fit your needs.

Do you accept insurance and Medicaid?

Yes. We accept Virginia Medicaid and many other insurance plans. Before you start, we verify your benefits by phone at no cost and explain what your plan covers.
