Insurance Verification

Worrying about the cost of treatment makes a hard time harder. We check your benefits for free, by phone, before you start, so you know what to expect.

How does insurance verification work?

Call our admissions team and have your insurance card handy. With your permission, we contact your insurance company and confirm your benefits for addiction treatment. The check is free, confidential, and does not commit you to anything.

We then explain what we found in plain language. Here is what we check:

  • Whether your plan covers the level of care you may need, such as PHP, IOP, or outpatient treatment.
  • Your deductible, and how much of it you have already met this year.
  • Copays or coinsurance you may owe for each visit or day of treatment.
  • Whether your plan requires prior authorization or a referral before you begin.

Benefits can change, so we recheck them if your level of care changes during treatment.

Does Skypoint Recovery accept Virginia Medicaid?

Yes. We work with Virginia Medicaid, which covers substance use disorder treatment through its Addiction and Recovery Treatment Services (ARTS) benefit. We verify your specific plan before you start so there are no surprises.

If you do not have Medicaid yet but think you might qualify, we can explain how to apply in Virginia.

What if I don’t have insurance?

You can still get treatment at Skypoint Recovery. We offer payment plans for people without insurance, and we walk you through the costs before you begin.

If you have recently lost coverage or your income has changed, you may be eligible for Virginia Medicaid. We are glad to talk through your options when you call.

Insurance questions

Does it cost anything to verify my insurance?

No. Insurance verification is free and does not commit you to treatment. It simply gives you a clear picture of your coverage so you can decide what to do next.

Will my employer find out if I use my insurance for treatment?

We share your information with your insurance company only as needed to verify and bill for your care, and we do not contact your employer. Health information is protected by privacy laws, and if you have concerns about your specific plan, we can talk them through before you share any details.

Can I check coverage for a family member?

Yes, you can call on behalf of a loved one. You will need the details from their insurance card, and we will need their permission before we discuss their treatment with you.

What if my plan doesn’t cover the care I need?

We will explain what your plan does cover and what your options are, which may include a different level of care or a payment plan. You will not be left to figure it out alone.

Recovery is waiting for you

Reaching out is the hardest step, and you do not have to have everything figured out first. Call our admissions team for a free, confidential conversation about what comes next.
